BARRY AdlER

East Lakeview, Chicago Illinois    Completed 2013

Remodel of a Condominium in East Lakeview. The original home was designed by David Adler before being stripped of design details and split into full floor condominiums.  This renovation consisted of refinishing and replacing flooring, a renovated kitchen and 2 new bathrooms as well as furniture and lighting throughout.

In the Master Bathroom, we’ve replaced the bath tub a roll-in shower. Crown moulding, new lighting and a custom vanity make the new space elegant yet simple. Ceramic wall tile was selected with a wide range of hues to create interest, depth and warmth in the space.

In the hall bathroom, soffits were removed above the mirror and a smaller soffit was built for the custom walnut medicine cabinet. Glass display shelves were set in between. An awkward storage cabinet was removed and a large new shower created.  The floor is covered with Bronze penny tiles that look rich and appropriate with the scale of the room.

We created a better proportion in the kitchen by placing a laundry room at the far end.  A pocketing frosted glass door separates the spaces and lightens the room.  Glass fronts break up the light grey shaker style cabinets and warm tones are used to complement the graphic tile and details.
