Claudia l. mendelson
Claudia Mendelson grew up in Flossmoor, IL before moving to Pittsburgh, PA where she attended Shady Side Academy. Claudia received a BA in Design of the Environment from The University of Pennsylvania. Prior to receiving her Master of Architecture Degree, Claudia worked as an assistant buyer for Macy’s in New York before moving on to San Francisco where she worked as a buyer for Pottery Barn, a division of Williams Sonoma, Inc. Claudia received her Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and studied abroad in Japan as well as at the Architectural Association in London. At Penn, Claudia received the Alpha Rho Chi Medal for leadership, willing service, and promise of professional merit.
Claudia has worked for architecture firms in NYC, Philadelphia and Chicago, including Booth Hansen Associates in Chicago, where she worked on the renovation of the Palmolive building. Claudia has worked on a variety of projects ranging from healthcare to commercial to residential. Claudia’s experience in the design world, both on the creative side and the business side, give her a unique approach towards clients and their projects and expand the possibilities for creative solutions.
joshua e. pincus
Josh Pincus grew up in Haverford, Pennsylvania, a suburb outside of Philadelphia. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Cornell University, Josh returned to Philadelphia for his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he received honors including the Dales Portfolio Competition and first prize in the John Stewardson Memorial Competition. While at Penn, Josh had the opportunity to participate in an intensive study abroad program in Japan. Elements of this program, such as theories about weathering, scale and materials, have influenced the work of the firm.
Josh has worked for firms concentrating in both residential and commercial architecture on various scales including The Museum of Broadcast Communication and the management of multiple residential renovations and new construction homes in the city and suburbs.
At Cornell, Josh was a member of the varsity soccer team and continues to play locally in Chicago.
Josh and Claudia were married here in Chicago in 2004. They were active in the East Lakeview community, where they've lived for 17 years and are now loving their new home and neighborhood of Lakewood Balmoral, where the firm relocated in 2020.
