Classic Contemporary
Lakeview, Chicago Illinois Completed 2014
A bit traditional and a bit transitional, we like to call it Classic Contemporary. (click on the images above to enlarge)
The renovation of this home in a turn of the century Lakeview greystone 3 flat building began with remodeling the Master Bathroom. The Master Bathroom rehab was crucial for setting the tone that was carried through the home as other portions were renovated.
The original bathroom was dark and outdated. The new bathroom adds light and sophistication and creates a space that is both elegant and inviting. A heated floor helps warm marble tile floors in a brick pattern. To reduce overall cost and limit waste, the shower doors and soaking tub were reused. The width of the shower was increased a few inches to allow for a better intersection of the wood tub skirt and marble top. It also provides a bit more elbow room in the now spacious shower. The bathroom cabinetry designed by MPink and fabricated by Joliet Cabinet.
The Kitchen was renovated to provide more storage space and provide an update with more detailed cabinetry and an added island. New lighting brightens the space. In the main living area, a new entertainment unit near the fireplace was designed to match the existing cabinetry in the adjacent space. This cabinetry was designed by MPink and fabricated by Allways Remodeling of Chicago. The Powder Room and Hall Bathrooms were also renovated.
